You Can Find a Job!

I’m three months into this deployment and have so many people to thank to help me through this, but one being my job. I work for the Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) and there’s nothing better than knowing I’m doing something I love and giving back to our Military and their family members at the same time.

I work in the Sponsorship area and having organizations big and small give back gives me satisfaction and honor knowing I’m also a part of the Military world. This job also helps time pass so much quicker than I ever imagined. We have so many events going on, there is never a dull moment. Not only that, but this community understands what you’re going through! They understand there will be ups and downs. They have insight and always make sure I’m doing OK. I’m very lucky because I know how hard  it can be as a Spouse going to new duty stations and having to start all over looking for a job.

One thing to remember is every duty station has a Spouse program to help you get a job! Use it! Since my husband is Marine Corps, all info is on the MCCS website no matter where you are. They help with your resume and provide suggestions! There are a bunch of career fairs too. And it’s not just for Spouses, girlfriends, fiances, etc. can use it too.

Don’t feel like you have to figure this out on your own. Even if it means a temp job for the time being. I always say the Marine Corps is a small community. Someone always knows someone to help out.

Take advantage of these opportunities!
