One small act can make a difference in the life of a Veteran or Service member in crisis.  That’s the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) message this September in observance of Suicide Prevention Month.

To learn how to connect someone you know with 24/7 support this September and every day, AcademyWomen invites you to join them on Tuesday, September 30 from 2:30 – 3:30 pm EDT for a Veteran Suicide Prevention Webinar: Because One Small Act Can Make the Difference. The webinar is offered in collaboration with the Veterans Crisis Line and will be presented by Dr. Caitlin Thompson, Deputy Director of Suicide Prevention at VA Mental Health Services.

Attend this webinar to learn more about the dynamics of suicide and how to recognize risk factors and early warning signs.  You will learn about the VA Suicide Prevention Program and important resources like the Veterans Crisis Line to support Veterans and their families.

Throughout the month, the Veteran eMentor Facebook page will contain posts about this webinar and suicide prevention.

In the coming weeks, AcademyWomen and eMentor will provide you with more details and registration information about the webinar.
