Memorial Day Remembrance

Sure, school’s out for the day and the pool is open so you can officially kick off your summer, but let’s keep in mind what Memorial Day is really all about.

Each year, on the last Monday of May, the U.S. takes a look back to memorialize and pay respects to service members who died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Formerly Decoration Day (named soon after the end of the U.S. Civil War), the holiday was created to commemorate those who died in battle.  Now, a national holiday, Memorial Day includes those who have passed away during their Military service.

Whether you’re planning to dive into your community pool, enjoy a cookout with your family and friends or visit the graves of loved ones who have fallen during their service, be thankful for those who have sacrificed themselves for your freedom, your rights and your country.

Fly your American flag proudly to honor and memorialize the heroes throughout time!
